Our Proposal Story

Ben and Sami’s love story has been a joyful whirlwind since they first started dating in May of 2023. About six months in, marriage was already a casual conversation that only grew more real with time. By summer 2025, they knew they were ready. Together, they designed the perfect ring at Adler’s Jewelers, right across the street from their favorite local spot, The Village Bar. After that, Ben secretly took the reins, looping in Sami’s family and best friends to plan a proposal that would be unforgettable. Sami, of course, had made it clear she wanted to be engaged by her 30th birthday, and with just six weeks until the big day, Ben got to work. On the morning before her birthday, they enjoyed lunch at their all-time favorite restaurant, Zia’s on the Hill. Sami was sure that “today was the day” until Ben casually mentioned a stop at Sam’s Club for paper towels. (Needless to say, she was not thrilled.) When no proposal came after lunch, Sami was totally thrown off the scent. That evening, Ben suggested dinner at The Frisco Barroom. Over cocktails and conversation, nothing seemed out of the ordinary, until a text arrived from Sami’s friend Kathryn, inviting them out for drinks on the Hill. Excited to join, Sami had no idea that Kathryn, Paul, and her brother, John, were already helping Ben set the stage. At the romantic Piazza Imo, a small crowd of onlookers were patiently waiting in the plaza with a set of marquee lights glowing “Marry Me” beside the fountain, Ben got down on one knee, and Sami joyfully said yes! It was the most perfect surprise after all.

Ben is a huge hockey fan, and Blues games are always a blast with loud crowds and great energy. It's perfect way to spend a winter afternoon in St. Louis!

Timeline

What is the dress code?

We kindly request&nbsp;semi-formal attire: suits, mid or floor-length gowns. For women, good options include midi, or floor-length dresses along with dressy jumpsuits, or nice separates. For men, a suit and tie works great, but tuxedos are also welcome!

Can I bring a plus one or my kids?

If your invitation didn’t include a plus one or your little ones, we unfortunately can’t accommodate additional guests, but we’d truly love for you to be there to celebrate with us!

When is the RSVP deadline?

Kindly respond by December 10 so we can finalize our guest count and details. We’d love to see you there! RSVP by December 10; otherwise, we’ll assume you can’t make it.
